Small Groups
We know it’s hard to make friends, so we create environments where forming Godly friendships is likely.
Small Groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together. We believe God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we live the full life He intends for us. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why Small Groups exist—to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you.
Our groups operate in three “seasons” - Fall (Sept-Dec), Spring (Feb-Apr), and Summer (June-July); making for plenty of opportunities to join or lead a group and try something new. If you’re looking to get plugged in outside of our small group seasons, check out our Events page!
New Groups Launch
September 30, 2024
The Practicing the Way Course is the ideal starting place for all of our resources. It is designed to help get you started on the journey of spiritual formation, help you get unstuck if you’ve stalled out, or just guide you into taking your next step. Ultimately, its goal is to help you live as an apprentice of Jesus: to be with Jesus, become like him, and do as he did.

This upcoming Fall 2024 season, here are some notable dates:
Sunday 9/15 1:45pm training
Sunday 9/22 6pm Unveil
9/30-12/8 weekly groups
11/11-11/17 Outreach week
11/23 Conference
-
We love your heart in wanting to serve God’s kingdom where that is! All Kalos small group leaders are required to attend Sunday morning service(s) and call Kalos their home church.
-
We understand some schedules may not make it feasible for a weekly group, but we firmly believe meeting once a week encourages commitment & consistency, which deepens relationships in a significant way. Since our seasons are only 7-13 weeks long, the less frequent you meet, the more disconnect they will be & feel. At this time, we are only offering weekly groups.
-
We will set everything up for you on our groups page. At Unveil on 9/22, we will announce all of the groups for the seasons and pray over the leaders. Guests will have one week to sign up before they launch.
When guests sign up, they will be signing up according to the day, time, location, & demographic (if applicable) that best suits their schedule.
Unlike previous seasons, please do not invite people to your specific group. We intentionally want people to join a group not knowing who the leaders are to promote cross pollination of friend groups. This makes it more comfortable for people newer to Kalos to enter in and join community.
Groups will remain open the entire season for new people to join. This will allow everyone new to Kalos after launch for them to participate. -
One of our leaders will reach out to you to go over your group details. In the meantime, please do the following:
Attend our leader training on Sunday 9/15/24 1:45pm-3:45pm. Dinner, beverages, & childcare will be provided. Please let leadership know if you (and your kids, if applicable) will be there so we can plan accordingly.
During training, we will cast vision for small groups, goals for the season, and what your group night should look like. We will not be diving into the material itself.Plan the logistics of your group (with your co-leader/host, if applicable), such as location, time, certain demographics (ex. mens, womens, parents, young age specific, etc.). If you need help with a location, our leadership team will work with you with options.
Before training, we will send out the curriculum material, videos, etc. for how to lead your group. Review all of this before training. Please note; we will be providing copies of the leader workbook, but not the book itself.
-
In the fall season we all do the same topic as an entire church. The other (winter & summer) seasons, we have what we call “free market” groups. You can choose whatever interests you, whether that be an activity (cooking, soccer, golf, dance, art) or topic (Bible study, finance, photography).
This upcoming Fall 2024, every group will be going through Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer.
-
Fill out the form above! When one of our leaders reached out, let them know you don’t have a location. We will do our best to match you with someone willing to host your group. At this time, we are not able to have groups meet at our church building.
-
While note technically required, it is HIGHLY encouraged. Co-leaders are very important to the success of a group. Shepherding people is not easy task. That’s why co-leaders are crucial. You have a partner to carry the spiritual load of the group, pray for your members, & coordinate scheduling/logistics. Should you become ill or need to travel, it ensures group can continue meeting.

Here at Kalos we embrace every story and strive to have an inclusive community for all. For the safety of Kalos as a whole, we require a background check of all volunteers on the Serve Team. We follow the guidelines and regulations of Bellevue School District. If there is an alert on your background check, our Executive Director will reach out to hear your story and to determine the best area to serve. An alert does not automatically disqualify you from serving, but might limit you to which area of our church you are able to serve. The safety of our team and guests is a top priority at Kalos Church.

Small Group leaders act as shepherds to our congregation– an extension of Pastors Pradeepan and Amreitha Jeeva, as they walk through struggles, deconstruction of faith, moments of celebration, life changes, and so much more with members of our church. Carrying the weight of this requires a standard we want to uphold.

Yes! If you have a home where you can host 12 people at most, we would encourage you to!
You can also decide the time and day, however, depending on the needs of our church, our leadership team may ask if you can make some changes.
Please note, groups cannot meet during church wide events such as Sunday morning services (any time before 2pm), Kalos Night, or Unveil. If your group schedule conflicts with any of these, we will ask you to reschedule it.

We understand that Practicing the Way is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. The 10 weeks are a cumulative experience, and so we ask every participant to attend as many weeks as possible. We know things come up & life happens, so even if you can’t commit to the full 10 weeks, we encourage you to sign up anyway.
-
Usually an intensive life this costs $50, but Kalos Church has purchased all the necessary materials as a gift for you.
-
We understand things may come up or things happen. However, we encourage you to continue meeting with your current group and connecting with your leaders regarding the challenges you're facing. We believe God has stirred your heart to join a group for a reason, so we'd love to navigate that with you!
If you absolutely need to leave the group, we ask you speak with your group leader. -
We’re still in the midst of solidifying groups, but our heart is to have at least one digital option to join online!
-
To give everyone an opportunity to join a group, you will be added to a group on a first come, first serve basis. We ask you only join and commit to one group so allow others a chance to participate.
On Sunday, Sept 22, we invite you to attend our Unveil service at 6pm. The night will be a time to worship, pray, participate in a self-reflective spiritual health assessment, and receive a free Practicing the Way workbook. -
Sunday, Sept 22 at 6pm at Kalos Church (14320 NE 21st St Suite #11, Bellevue, WA 98007).
